A sign shall be considered abandoned if the business for which the sign was erected has not been in operation for a period of at least two years. An abandoned nonconforming sign shall be removed by the owner of the property on which the sign is located upon notification by the zoning administrator.

A nonconforming sign shall lose its nonconforming status when: 1. Any sign which has lost its nonconforming status pursuant to this subsection shall be removed within three (3) months of the loss of nonconformity.
