• Baseline raw water analyses completion time120 days

  The analyses shall be completed within 120 days after the effective date of the ordinance from which this chapter is derived, and a copy shall be forwarded to the town building official within 14 days of completion.

• Secondary containment capacity150 pct

  The containment shall be of adequate size and design (no less than 150 percent of container volume) to handle all spills, leaks, overflows, and precipitation until appropriate action can be taken.

• Minimum distance of effluent disposal area from potable supply wells500 ft

  At no time will an effluent disposal area be within 500 feet of potable supply wells.

• Emergency recovery devices response time4 hrs

  Vacuum suction devices, absorbent scavenger materials or other devices approved by the town engineer, shall be present on-site or available within four hours in the zone of protection 24 hours per day and seven days per week by contract with a cleanup company approved by the town fire chief.

• Daily inspection for breakage or leakage

  A responsible person designated by the permittee who stores, handles, uses or produces the regulated substances shall check every day of operation for breakage or leakage of any container holding the regulated substances.

  There will be no new industrial land uses or zoning within the zone of protection.

• Double pond detention/retention system required for new stormwater facilities in commercial, industrial, utility, timber, and public-institutional districts

  In commercial, industrial, utility, timber, and public-institutional zoning districts stormwater runoff facilities will be required to have a double pond detention/retention system for new facility installations.

• New underground storage facilities requirements

  New underground storage facilities within the zone of protection shall meet the following requirements: Double-walled tank and piping with a continuous leak detection system in between the walls; or An impervious secondary containment having monitoring well(s) or detector located therein; and For each of the above options, it is required that the facility install and maintain a groundwater monitoring system, and implement a groundwater monitoring program approved by the town.

• Zone of protection radius300 ft

  The zone of protection map depicts a circular boundary that has a radius of 300 feet from each public water system well in the town.
