Height

Lighting

  • Freestanding lights shall not exceed 30 feet above finished grade, and building-mounted lights shall be no higher than the roofline or parapet wall and directed downward with the exception of architectural lighting.

    Pedestrian-scale streetlights shall be designed to enhance the pedestrian character of the district, spaced generally 60 feet on center and have fixture mounting heights between 12 and 15 feet above finished grade.

  • Concrete curb and gutter required

    Roads, unless otherwise specified by the Virginia Department of Transportation, shall have concrete curb and gutter.

  • Drive-through location

    Drive-in or drive through facilities and gasoline pumps shall not be located between a building and the road.

  • Setback can be reduced to zero feet if the parking area includes two-way access to a parking area on an adjacent lot.

  • Sidewalks and pedestrian ways required

    Sidewalk and pedestrian ways shall be provided along roads, from parking areas to uses and as pedestrian connections from projects to adjacent development and sidewalks along roads.

Parking

    No more than one double-loaded aisle of parking shall be located between the setback and the front building facade. Such parking aisle shall be parallel to the road.
