Floodplain

  • CLOMR required for development increasing water surface elevation

    Development activities which increase the water surface elevation of the base flood may be allowed, provided that the applicant first applies - with the locality's endorsement - for a Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR), and receives the approval of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

  • No encroachments that increase flood levels

    No encroachments, including fill, new construction, substantial improvements, or other development shall be permitted unless it has been demonstrated through hydrologic and hydraulic analysis ... that the proposed encroachment will not result in any increase in flood levels within the community during the occurrence of the base flood discharge.
