Floodplain

  • Every manufactured home that is placed or is substantially improved ... shall be elevated on a permanent foundation such that the lowest floor of the manufactured home is elevated to or above the base flood elevation and shall be securely anchored to an adequately anchored foundation system to resist floatation, collapse, and lateral movement. ... or the manufactured home chassis is supported by reinforced piers or other foundation elements of at least equivalent strength that are no less than 36 inches in height above grade.

  • Recreational vehicle placement

    Recreational vehicles placed on sites in the Flood Plain Districts must either be on the site for fewer than 180 consecutive days and be fully licensed and ready for highway use, or meet the permit requirements for placement and the elevation and anchoring requirements for manufactured homes described above.

From the ordinance

In the Flood-Fringe and Approximated Flood Plain Districts, the development and/or use of land shall be permitted in accordance with the regulations of the town provided that all such uses, activities, and/or development shall be undertaken in strict compliance with the floodproofing, waterproofing, and other related provisions contained in the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and all other applicable codes and ordinances.
