Fencing & walls

• Maximum fence heightMaximum heightThe tallest a building may be, given in feet, in storeys, or both — whichever binds first. in business districts8 ft

  A fence or wall in any business zoning district shall not exceed eight feet in height above the existing grade without approval of a special use permit

• Chain-link fencing in business/PTD districts

  Business/planned districts: chain-link fencing shall only be allowed... where the chain-link fencing is not visible from any street right-of-way.

• Chain-link fencing in Old and Historic DistrictHistoric districtAn area where exterior changes need design review to protect its character.

  Old and Historic District: chain-link fencing is prohibited.

• Chain-link fencing in industrial districts

  Industrial districts: chain-link fencing shall be allowed... provided it is coated with black or dark green vinyl.

• Chain-link fencing in residential districts

  Residential districts: chain-link fencing is permitted on lots within residential zoning districts, provided it does not include opaque slats.
