SEC. 31-401. PURPOSE.#
SEC. 31-402. ESTABLISHMENT OF ZONING DISTRICTS.#
(a) In accordance with the requirement of Code of Virginia, § 15.2-2280 that zoning regulations be by districts, the City Council, as shown on the official zoning map accompanying this Ordinance and incorporated herein by this reference, is hereby divided into the following zoning districts which shall be governed by all of the uniform use and area requirements of this Ordinance, the respective symbol for each type of district being set forth opposite its title:

| PD | Planned Development Overlay District |
| TND | Traditional Neighborhood Development |

(b) Additional zoning districts may be added from time to time upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission to the City Council pursuant to § 31-304 of this Ordinance. Proposed changes to the zoning district regulations or the Official Zoning Map, including the addition of new zoning districts, may be submitted by the Planning Commission or any other interested party.
